Content and objectives: An intensive online Japanese language course taught live from Japan. Including a lot of photos, videos, articles, etc., of real time materials about Japan and its culture, the amount of information students to be exposed via online will exceed the traditional classroom teaching.
The Goal of study: After finishing this intensive course, students will be able to obtain the basic language skills to survive in Japan. Students will read and write 46 Hiragana letters. Students will be able to recognize 136 Kanji letters. The course will be taught in Japanese and English. This is a Pass /Fail program and a certificate will be issued by the Summer University and the Institute to which the lecturer belongs. Also, it is planned to offer a continuing course using Genki Book II from April, 2018 Mon and Wed.
Lecturer: The lecturer is Japanese native, living in Japan, has many years of experiences both in traditional teaching in very competitive and well known US universities while living in the US and also in online teaching as university programs from Japan.
Required equipment: A computer with a camera, headset with a microphone and internet connection. You can study at home or in your office. This course will be provided using “Zoom”, an online conference program; but students will not be required to create an account for Zoom. The procedure for accessing the Zoom will be sent some days before the course starts.
