About the Helsinki Summer University

Helsinki Summer University has been providing courses for 43 years.

Annually the Summer University organizes approximately 550 courses.

There are students and teachers from all over the world.

There are approximately 8000 students every year, and more than 1400 of them speak other than Finnish as their native language.

The instruction is open to everyone.

The Summer University has arranged Finnish for Foreigners courses since 1966.

The Summer University is maintained by a foundation set up by the local municipalities (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen)and the University of Helsinki.
